‘CONQUERING CLOUDS’ IN MY HANDS

February 24 & 25 videos and emails arrived on my computer. Stories from my various Australian friends who had received their order of my memoir ‘Conquering Clouds’.

And at those moments I had not seen my finished book.

A mixture of elation and trepidation engulfed me. Then a friend living close to me shared her copy.

As I held my printed memoir, the months of writing, the hundreds of emails from my UK Editor, Bella Pollen, with her constant “but how did you FEEL about that Ruth?” flooded my thoughts.

My dismay often as Bella pulled emotions submerged deeply in my being. Laughter and tears at various edits. Writing – such a solitary experience. But then the hours spent alone in my balloon basket over many years often smothered me with that same solitary experience.

My story has been written, edited, printed and now published as at March 1, 2022. Over coming weeks and months invariably there will be marketing, promotion with Author talks and book signings. Where I hope to meet my readers to say, ‘thank you’.

All this potential activity excites me.
