CONQUERING CLOUDS IN MY HANDS
March 2, 2022Author Talks Confirmed for May 2 + 19
March 31, 2022Conquering Clouds became an evolving story. My initial intention was to write about the early history of ballooning in Australia. When I stepped into a balloon’s wicker basket there were no more than 5 or 6 balloon pilots in my country. In 2020 when I began my writing odyssey there were only 3 of those early day pilots still active.
When I found a professional editor who took my first script and reshaped my early words I was amazed. My story grew wings of its own and there was no stopping.
As I read through the finished edited work, I accepted I had written Conquering Clouds to help me find my biological father and to inspire others not to be swayed by age when deciding to embrace challenge. My long distance hydrogen ballooning throughout the northern hemisphere at the age of 75 has left me with amazingly awesome memories.
To share my younger brother Ronnie’s story. A young solider in Vietnam, he returned wounded at soul level. I shared his struggle through years till he ended his life by hanging. I love and honour him. (Photo of Ron helping me with my hot air balloon as early as 1980).
Finally, as a legacy for my grandchildren, Tyler and Josie Wilson.
Most people have a story to share – I encourage you to be brave and embrace such a challenge.
Easy order through my web site direct from publisher Shawline. Most importantly to me, should you read my book I sincerely hope you find it rewarding.
