My First Night in a Caravan
October 15, 2017Parked for a Few Nights
October 17, 2017It’s been a day of travel along the eastern coastline stopping at Boomerang Beach, the name alone is reason to visit. The road is winding, twisting when I spy a cute looking coffee shop. But where to park a ute and caravan? Nowhere except at the bus stop outside the cute looking coffee shop. I try really hard to observe life’s rules but after glancing around it’s time to break the rules. If a bus appears or a policeman I can quickly exit the coffee shop and escape. I rush my coffee. That’s no fun at all.
Late afternoon a sign appears. Elim Campsite – Lake by the Sea – my imagination causes great excitement at the possibilities such a venue could bring. Driving onto the site I notice there is nobody else around but I like the feeling. After getting settled I stroll to the lake to take moments to appreciate my surroundings.
My night’s sleep has greatly improved.
A visit to the amenities block brings a first to my life. Plaques with Bible quotes are attached to the inside of all the toilet doors. Some photograph well. Others not so but I note the message that is featured here today. “Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God, is with you wherever you go!” Joshua 1:9. I have never read the Bible, nor am I of strong religion but my personal spiritual experiences have shown me there is an energy, one most cannot see, but many can feel. Still I am buoyed by the toilet message and look forward to what lies ahead.
It is with a gentle wave to the site manager that i face the journey towards my third night in a caravan.
What will tomorrow bring?
