Count Down to Gordon Bennett Launch – 34 hours!

34 Hours! 20 amazing hydrogen filled balloons will stand poised ready to float skywards through the night sky. On board the two intrepid pilots of the same nationality will be filled with mixed emotions and thoughts. The flags of each country attached to each aerostat will blow gently in any surrounding breeze.

The buzz of the expectant crowd will build.

It will not be easy for me to wave the competing teams skyward while I stay grounded. Lack of sponsor funds to support this expensive exercise is primarily the reason but I am grateful just to be part of this extraordinary energy.

I love my flying, chasing the unknown.
