Warmest greetings to any soul who finds my writing x The first three months of 2023 are a defined blur due to my left knee replacement surgery and recovery. But amongst it all my beautiful family spoilt me for my birthday mid-February. Photo attached is my birthday table with a masquerade theme.
Then i drove 7 hours to Canberra for our annual March ballooning event. First physical challenge achieved. April rushed by till I was on a plane flying from the East Coast to the West for the Australian Hot Air Ballooning Championship. High levels of excitement till I was hit with COVID on day 2. COVID? I had forgotten it existed in the East but it found me and whacked me solidly. Lost 10 days of my life but was so grateful once I emerged from the fog and horrible symptoms 4 days ago. Back in the land of the living.
Still in Perth and the day vibrates with sunshine and marvellous possibilities. I just have to find them.
Off to Brisbane early June for a Sport Aviation Forum where I will be the guest speaker at the event dinner. My talk covers ballooning in all its shapes – private, commercial, competition, gas long distance and around the world flights. But overall
I will be promoting my memoir Conquering Clouds.
I am on a steep learning curve on an author’s world. Ups and downs – like ballooning. UP with the initial launch of my
book. DOWN with the first royalty report. Patience with sales and acceptance of that reality hover constantly over me.
Then unsuspectingly I will receive an email from a reader sent through this website CONTACT page who fills their page
with amazingly positive words and emotions my story created.
