I’ve lived my life following my passion – for my family and friends flying, writing, travelling, my corporate work.

Recently, my flame lighting my way dimmed.

I wrote my memoir Conquering Clouds in 2021, sent my manuscript to potential publishers. When Shawline Publishing responded so enthusiastically I felt ecstatic. Signed a contract. Paid money for royalty sales/promotional/media support, and much more. Very little eventuated. I did get a finished book though. I was left on my own to try to let the world know I had written my story.

I decided to take control. Over the past 3 weeks I learned how to self-publish. November 22 my latest Conquering Clouds with a few edits plus a new chapter or two and photos was ready for new readers.

September 24, I stood in front of Governor Beasley who pinned the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) to my red jacket surrounded by my amazing sons Mark and Grant and their lovely wives Penny & Sharlene.

My flame was burning brightly once again.
